I have been in the surveying profession for 25 years and I started Hand Land Surveying Company in Nashville, GA in 2005.
As a small business owner and predominately a boundary surveyor, purchasing the right equipment is vital for me. Before JAVAD GNSS, I used a GNSS rover to set control using a local RTN provider and traversed with a robotic total station to perform the field work associated with my survey projects. This was the only way I knew until JAVAD. Around 2017, I recall the skepticism I had when reading various forum message boards and survey magazine articles discussing JAVAD GNSS capabilities s to survey in canopy. Out of curiosity, I called Adam Plumley who is registered surveyor in North Carolina and a Regional Sales Manager at JAVAD GNSS about a demo. Incredibly, Adam drove 6 hours to meet with me. Upon his arrival and after initial introductions, I felt very at ease talking with him because he never over promised or pushed like a salesperson. After setting up the base, my doubts soon turned into disbelief, as Adam began checking into previously set control that was in moderate to heavy canopy. Although he continued to repeat and stake out these points with hundredths, I still had a hard time accepting it as I was always told that GNSS and canopy do not mix. I purchased my first JAVAD system soon thereafter. Best purchase I ever made. It has changed the game for me as small surveying business. The work I can get accomplished now is significantly greater than by my previous methods. It’s the GNSS system I want all my colleagues to know about and so much so that I become a sales agent for JAVAD GNSS survey products.
